Specification

The E232 could play DVDs, Video CD, and Audio CD. However, it cannot play DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, CD-ROM, CDI, CDV, HD layer of Super Audio, and CDGs.

It can play DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, CD-RW; however, it depends hugely on the burn quality and the blank CD used.

It could decode a wide range of data formats including MP3, WMA, and JPG providing the CD file system followed the ISO 9660 JOLIET format. The processor can recognise up to 500 files and 300 folders in a single CD. The MP3 data should have a decompression transfer rate of 128 kbps or more.

The sound quality was excellent from the Dolby Digital Decoder chip. The built-in DTS decoder could provide a 5.1 channel surround output for DVDs. It has a special optical / coaxial connection for this.

The EZ View feature brought to the user the ability to convert the letterbox shaped screen sizes to full screen viewing on a conventional screen. This function was achieved through a powerful graphics processor that transcoded each frame on the fly.
