Roland SBF-325 stereo flanger studyjny analog (6314057823)
Opis
Do sprzedania flanger stereo Roland SBF-325 rack. Wersja europejska 220V (oryginalny kabel zasilający).
Działa bez problemu. Wygląda jak na zdjęciach.
Do obejrzenia w Warszawie.
This Roland SBF-325 Flanger module is in excellent condition, and is fully functional. Includes original power cord
The signal path of the 325 is true stereo in and out, which is unusual in analog flangers. There are duplicate front and rear stereo 1/4" inputs and outputs. Input and output each have a high/low level switch, green signal LED, and red peak LED. Two additional front panel 1/4" jacks are for remote effect switching and external control voltage input. There are no XLR connections.
The two areas where the 325 is most impressive are the quality of the analog flanging sound itself and the amount of flexibility. The four leftmost knobs are what you would expect on a full-featured flanger: feedback, center frequency, modulation rate, and modulation depth. To the right of the four control pots, the Effect Mode switch selects one of three flanger modes, one chorus mode, or off. There are also three invert switches which combine with the other controls to give the analog equivalent of several distinct flanging "algorithms."
From the same highly-regarded rack series as the SDD-320 Dimension D Chorus, the SBF-325 offers 3 different flanger types (mono, stereo, cross-fed stereo) and one chorus. They don't come up for sale very often and are highly sought-after - easy to see why: it's a very versatile unit, not only one of the best rackmount Flangers ever made, but also a very good stereo chorus. The controls are Feedback, Rate, Depth, and Center Frequency, and there's Channel B modulation invert and audio phase inversion switches to give you lots of immediate control. And it has a CV input also. Goes from soft subtle thickening through hazy shimmers to crazy over the top flanging and jet plane wooshes...
This flange in a box is one of the best in the business. It’s a two space rack unit from the “black face” line of great studio effects Roland released in the late 70’s and through the 80’s (Dimension D, anyone???). The SBF-325, in particular, was produced between 1979 and 1986. Its a true stereo flanger, which was totally unique in it’s day. With all the effects that have been released and advances in technology, this piece is still one of those must have boxes for any studio that thinks of itself as “analog” savvy.
The SBF-325 has that super deep metallic sweep like Prince’s amazing “When Doves Cry” drum flange. It has 5 modes appropriately named “Flanger I”, “Flanger II”, “Flanger III”, and the not so obvious, “Off” mode. As well as the useful but not flangy, “Chorus” mode. It has cool front and back panel inputs for both channels, it has phase invert for both channels (to get some nice swirly action going) and a CV in to control the frequency externally. This external control is another of those unique and creative features that make this box rock.
Flanger I is summed mono and sounds great. Flanger II is the stereo flange and sounds better, and Flanger III is a cross-feed flanger that sounds even better. It also has a cool block diagram of the circuit signal path on the top.
The Roland SBF-325 Stereo Flanger is a versatile time delay device that will produce a wide variety of effects ranging from classic flanging to chorus and doubling effects. An outstanding operating feature is the second delay channel which permits the device to be run in a stereo situation. The addition of the second channel makes possible stereo panning which considerably increases the intensity of an already intense effect. Inverting the phase of either delay channel is easily done at the flick of a switch.
The Stereo Flanger has 4 effect modes - three of which are used in flanging, the other being used for chorus and doubling effects. Each mode is indicated by an LED which allows constant monitoring. The Flanger modes run in the following manner:
Flanger I - monaural flanging
Flanger II - stereo flanging
Flanger III - cross-mix flanging
While in each of the time delay modes, there is complete flexibility over the sweep width and depth as well as manual delay control, all of which are contained in the Modulation sectdion. The Feedback Control provides for regeneration of the signal, which gives an additional intensity to the effect.
Input level attenuation on the front panel allows for a variety of musical instrument inputs. The effect on/off function can be controlled either by the front panel switch or by use of an external foot switch.
SPECS:
Rack-mounted analog Flanger / Chorus device with 4 different modes:
Flanger I = mono flanger.
Channel B delay line is not used,
Channel A delay line is connected to both outputs.
Channel B switches have no effect.
Flanger II = stereo flanger using two independent delay lines.
Flanger III = cross-mixing stereo effect using two delay lines and panning to produce wide spacey sound and finally Chorus. There's Frequency, Rate and Depth controls plus a Feedback control for the Flanger modes only. The Rate (speed) can be controlled by internal
LFO or through an External CV In jack.
The Roland SBF-325 is an analog stereo flanger which was in production from 1979 to 1986. In 1986 the list price was $525, the same price as the SPH-323 rackmount phaser in the same series.
To the right of the four control pots, the Effect Mode switch selects one of three flanger modes, one chorus mode, or off. There are also three invert switches which combine with the other controls to give the analog equivalent of several distinct flanging "algorithms."
Flanger mode I sums the inputs and generates a mono flanged output. This is a good traditional resonant flanger sound. Mode III is cross-feed stereo, i.e. the output of each delay line is fed back into the input of the other delay line. This is a unique flanging sound, especially at high feedback settings. Mode III is mentioned by Roland as the inspiration for the digitally modeled "analog flanger" effect in their recent grooveboxes. Next to the Effect Mode section, two switches in the Phase section allow either or both of the delayed signals to be inverted before being mixed with the dry signal to produce flanging. Usually, both channels are inverted or not, but occasionally you can get some unique flanging by only inverting one channel. In addition, a switch in the Modulation section causes the modulation waveform to be inverted on channel B, producing stereo panning effects. When a control voltage source is plugged into the Ext CV In jack, the Depth control scales the cv input and the Center Freq control adds an offset. But just short of this, there's a nice "psycho drainpipe squared" region, and of course, using the external LFO you have more controls to play with. Other possibilites include using a cv pedal or a midi/cv converter. The chorus mode of the SBF-325, which uses the Modulation section's Rate and Depth controls as in the flanger modes, is nice, but it's more of a chorus/flange sound than a true "Roland chorus." The feedback control is not available in chorus mode. This sample uses moderate settings for Rate, Depth, and Center Frequency. When using modulation, the effect of the Center Frequency control is more subtle than in the flanger modes. It even does the classic Chorus sound made famous in the Roland JC-120 and Space Echos.
This is the matching flanger unit to other Roland effects processors in this particular range, i.e. the SPH-323 Phase Shifter, the SVC-350 Vocoder, and the SRE-555 Chorus Echo.
There's Frequency, Rate and Depth controls plus a Feedback control for the Flanger modes only. The Rate (speed) can be controlled by internal LFO or through an External CV In jack. External CV input, high quality sound, interface and mechanics. Very rare and high quality effect processor indeed. "
"A two-rackspace stereo analog flanger, dating from the early 80s. The SBF-325 offers four different effect modes: Flanger I, Flanger II, Flanger III, and Chorus. The Modulation section offers knobs for Center Frequency, Rate, and Depth. Channel B's modulation waveform can be inverted by means of a toggle switch, and there is ¼" control voltage (CV) input on the front panel which allows you to supply a modulation waveform from an external source. There is also a Feedback knob. Each of the two output channels can be switched between normal and phase-inverted. There is a Bypass switch on the front panel, as well as a ¼" jack for a bypass footswitch. The inputs and outputs both have switches to select between Low and High levels."
