About the Author
Freelancing is difficult enough... So I'm going all-in to push freelance designers, writers & marketers who are 'doing okay' to evolve, innovate and achieve the freedom (in all its guises) they desire from their tiny businesses. Three years ago I left my "yeah, I guess it's okay" job as a designer/marketer at a larger business with a vision; to do freelancing right this time. I had nothing more than a laptop, one rented desk in a shared workspace, ten digits at the end of two arms, and one vision. Today I have a self-sufficient, multi-faceted web agency (tone.co.uk), along with other offshoots, capable of operating - and growing - without my day-to-day presence. In the whirlwind period which followed the business has generated $1.1m in revenues and growing, so I needed to tell my story. It took me one failure at the freelance game and 2 years inside a corporate to figure it out, now I want to give you the benefit of my experience as well as inviting you into the world of the people who have been there and broken the freelance boundaries themselves. By doing this you'll be able to grow beyond your current normal and build a business you can be really proud of which supports the lifestyle you really want to live.
