Korg released the DW-8000 Programmable Digital Waveform Synthesizer the bigger cousin to the DW-6000 seen previously.

The DW-8000 sported 16 DWG waveforms that are processed through the synth's envelope, filter, and effects. Many of the earlier features like key assign and unison were still available but a it also has a stereo digital delay that could be used for delay, chorus, and flanging.

Another addition to the instrument is an arpeggiator offering up to 64 notes. MIDI IN/OUT/THRU and tape storage IN/OUT were also standard.

The waveforms included are waveforms such as sine, sawtooth, and pulse waveforms, but more unusually featured waveforms such as acoustic piano and saxophone.

The DW-8000 had the same front panel matrix as the DW-6000 and earlier DCO Korg synths of it's time.
