Signature: Nio (Era : Late Muromachi period)
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 63.4 cm or 24.96 inches. (2shaku 9 bu)
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.7 inches.

Width at the hamachi : 2.66 cm or 1.05 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.76 cm or 0.69 inches.
Kasane : 0.56 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Late Muromachi period Eisho era.
Shape : The blade is short nakago and rather small size with deep sori which is called Katate Uchi style.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada and mokume hada mixed with jinie attach like Chirimen hada and shirake utsuri appear.
Hamon : Niedeki suguha uremia gokoro with a lot of ashi work.
Boshi is Kaen and Hakikake style.
Special feature : Nio started from Kamakura to late Muromachi period.
This school made suguha decki and nice soft feeling jigane like chirimen hada Aoe school.
This shape is easy to move around for the ground battling not horse riding battle which is called Katateuchi style.
At that time, the way of the battling from horse riding battle to ground battling.
They use light and easy to moving around swords, So the blade must be short, light and easy to handle sword.
This sword has some small openings but not so bad.
Generally Nio didn't cut the signature on the tang so it is rare item.
